How’s It Going?

The busy season in full swing

Recently, I had a talk with one of my team members who is incredibly hard-working, driven, and exactly the kind of teammate you want. But you know what I don’t want in a teammate? Burnout.

Burnout is real, and it can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. So, I told them: take time off, go on vacation, or take a personal day. Leave your work phone and computer at home.

Most businesses aren’t going to care how close you are to burnout, so it’s important to advocate for yourself. I appreciate their dedication to driving our small business forward, but I also value their well-being. I know how hard we’ve worked to get to where we are.

So, take the time you need and put yourself first. Come back refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

Mid-Q3 Check-In – How’s It Going?

We’re deep into Q3, and with the busy season in full swing, it’s time to check in. How’s your team holding up? Manufacturing often ramps up during this period, so keeping pace and staying on track is crucial. If you’re feeling like things are slipping, let’s figure out why and see what we can do to get back on course.

The busy time of year can bring both a surge of opportunities and some real challenges. Increased demand can put a lot of pressure on your team and resources. Are you managing the extra load effectively, or are you running into delays and hiccups? Maybe it’s time to think about whether you need more support or additional hands to help get you through.

Sometimes, it’s not about setting new goals but about adjusting the ones you’ve got to make them more achievable with the current workload. This is also a good chance to check if leadership and expectations are in sync with the current demands. Have you set goals that are too ambitious, or is there a gap in leadership that’s impacting your progress?

To keep things moving smoothly and finish strong, especially during this hectic time, here are a few tips:

  • Revisit Your Goals: Make sure your objectives are realistic given the extra demands. If needed, adjust them to better fit what you can actually achieve.

  • Communicate Clearly: Ensure everyone on your team knows what’s expected and understands their role, especially during this busy season. Clear communication helps avoid confusion and keeps everyone focused.

  • Find and Fix Bottlenecks: Look for any obstacles that might be slowing things down and address them quickly. Streamlining processes can help improve overall performance.

  • Boost Morale: Celebrate the small wins and give a shout-out to your team for their hard work. Keeping everyone motivated is key to pushing through the busy season.

Use this mid-Q3 check-in to make any necessary adjustments, refocus your efforts, and keep pushing towards your goals. With the right tweaks and a bit of extra energy, we can tackle the busy season and finish the year on a high!
